Free online lectures. I'm really enjoying the Civil War one from Yale
I found this great website with free online university lectures. It's got history, science math all sorts of stuff. You won't get any college credits. But, if you got extra time and want to learn some new things it's pretty cool. My guess is these are liberal professors who want their knowledge to be shared for free.

Check it out:

There is some good stuff through iTunes and the Forum Network (through PBS) as well.

Much appreciated! I will bookmark.

8. What would a damned Yankee institution know about the civil war?

 Oh, and :sarcasm: for the humor-impaired.

15. New Haven, where I live, made the gun that won the west...the Winchester!
CT had gun factories during the civil war and made most of the firearms that were used in it. Winchester in New Haven, Colt in Hartford. I think there are more but I am not a gun historian because I don't care that much about it. But it is interesting, from an historical point of view...

9. Free like Hulu....for a while
Interesting site, but be aware of the end purpose. It is patterned after Hulu with the hope of going global in the never ending race to replace teachers with online courses.

10. Interesting article. You know on this website you don't get
college credits. So academic earth is not a replacement for the university it just gives knowledge to the public who may not be able to afford the university. But, you might be right. Things could change in the future.

16. Whenever Bill Gates
is behind a program, such as this...one needs to have eyes open.

Meanwhile, it is nice to listen to the lectures.
