Dozens of Obama 2008 Wall Street donors now support Romney
Source: Raw Story

Many deep-pocketed backers of President Barack Obama's 2008 campaign now have eyes for a different candidate, financial disclosure forms show. Sixty-seven Wall Street executives — and former Obama backers — have instead put their money behind former Masschusetts governor and Republican frontrunner Mitt Romney.

The bankers, who live in New York, New Jersey and Connecticut, have together contributed more than $147,000 to Romney's campaign thus far, The Hill reported.

Obama has been hot and cold about Wall Street and the mega-banks during his administration. Lately, he's been cold: Obama said he would not allow Wall Street to "take the money and run" and has pushed for reform that he said would make taxpayer bailouts a thing of the past.

Recently discovered documents showed that the Federal Reserve loaned Wall Street more than $1.2 trillion of taxpayer money during the financial crisis of 2007-2008. He also called for tax hikes for the wealthy during the recent debt ceiling negotiations.

1. That's why I didn't want Wall St. bailed out...
Obama gave them everything they wanted, not one person is in jail, and Obama is still persona non grata...

2. They used Obama as a pawn. IMO he should scream loudly about the shenanigans
going on and stop his admins. participation. If done right he could capture a huge vote from the masses (I think).

3. Given the choice between a Republican and a Democrat who acts
like a Republican, wall street will choose the Republican every time.

They got exactly what they wanted from Obama. A Republican fiscal policy and the ability to blame the Democrats for it.

Now it's time for another Republican to shovel even more up to them.

6. Laughable

A news story about 67 contributors reaches the news but

the fact that 250,000 new donors who never contributed to Obama were added in the last quarter is not to be found anywhere in the media.

8. Too bad so sad for them that Romney will not be the nominee.
And will they give their money to Perry?

Molly Ivins called Perry two things, Gov. Goodhair, and The Coiffeur. At the rate his ego is going, pretty soon he'll be known as The Coif-fuehrer.

He's a dangerous rattlesnake. But people who can't see straight through him need eye surgery.

10. Gee
Lately, he's been cold: Obama said he would not allow Wall Street to "take the money and run" and has pushed for reform that he said would make taxpayer bailouts a thing of the past.

Maybe it would have been smart not to let them have the money in the first place. Who could have foreseen that these people would be uncommitted to financial and economic reform?

I guess catering to the Wall Street "base" was kind of a dead end, huh? Some of us said that those people wouldn't be particularly dependable.

12. I hope Obama recognizes that he has been putting his money on the wrong horse.
He should be focusing on getting disgruntled Democrats out.

Bankers are fair-weather friends. They are only in it for the money, and Obama has delivered all the money he can to them.

Obama needs to start dancing with the ones who brung him.

13. Obama doesn't deserve to win another term.
That doesn't mean Romney is worth it either. It just means Obama doesn't deserve another term. As my departed father used to say, "He is as useless as my left nut."
