NJ Republican lawmaker quit over wife’s email to Carl Lewis campaign about ‘having dark skin’
I know everyone is shocked that one more Republican, and in this case his wife, is guilty of racism. . .

NJ Republican lawmaker quit over wife’s email to Carl Lewis campaign about ‘having dark skin’

By Associated Press, Updated: Monday, August 22, 4:06 PM

TRENTON, N.J. — A Republican official says a freshman New Jersey lawmaker resigned because his wife sent “an offensive and racist” email to the Democratic state Senate campaign of nine-time Olympic gold medalist Carl Lewis.

Burlington County Republican Chairman Bill Layton acknowledged Monday that Pat Delany stepped down from the Assembly this month because of his wife’s missive to Lewis’ campaign.

The Delanys are white. Lewis is black.

Jennifer Delany’s email said, “Imagine having dark skin and name recognition and the nerve to think that equalled knowing something about politics.”

1. Hell, Sir
Imagine having white skin, no name recognition, and the nerve to think that meant you knew something about politics --- which pretty much describes the tea-bagger cohort of Republican pols and voters....

3. Compared to what right-wingers say EVERY DAY, this wasn't even THAT racist.

Yes, it WAS racist.

But it wasn't like she called him Carl Lewis the Magic Negro.

Either this guy is seriously a much more decent person than ANY Republican we've seen in years, or else there is another, louder shoe waiting to drop.

Even Michael Steele says things about HIMSELF that are more racist than this.

I mean... if this was the threshold, there wouldn't be ANY Republicans left in Congress AT ALL.
