Obama and the center
so Obama seems to be pissing off the far left. Thats actually a very good political move..

the far left is a small fringe of the american people. like it or not thats the truth. there are many times as many centrists as far lefties in the country. so by pissing off the far left he has a much better chance of winning since he can that work on attracting the middle. a far left stance will only push the center toward the GOP. a centrist stance will give him a chance to capture some of that vote at little or no cost

sometime the truth hurts but must be told.

1. Sorry to disagree, It's not only the "fringe"
that is getting pissed off. Not in the real world. In the real world I know quite a few life long Democrats who are disgusted with him.

If we ever get back to what you are calling far left we'd be 1950's -1970's republicans.
Some posts are so full of fail!

7. So left leaning democrats are the fringe now?
That is absurd, maybe stop with trying to separate everyone out with the purity tests that you are devising. We are all democrats and we are voting for the democrat. Just because you are living in fear doesn't mean you have a right to smear those who disagree with you with snarky posts. The insults around here go way beyond the pale and and I would suggest you look n the mirror to see that at the very least posts like this are part of the problem.

22. Did you take those comments personally?
And do you think that DU would abide people who openly state they are voting for or advocate voting for scumbags? Obviously the admins here know why people are saying what they are saying and so far they haven't started TSing people for being angry at Obama. Maybe you should take your cue from them and stop insulting 2/3rds of the members here.

34. Have you not seen the numerous posts
indicating that anyone who is not far enough to the left is "Republicrat" or is just simply not a "real" Democrat at all? Or the ones expressly stating they will not vote for President Obama because he, himself, is not a Democrat? I agree with you that we need to recognize that the Democratic Party is, or used to be, a large tent party, and there ought to be room for everyone.

in the final vote 40% of the house dems voted against it... only 20% of the GOP did

when the bill moved to the senate 19 senators launched a fillibuster to stop it. 18 dems and 1 GOP

is chocolate ice cream, which is crap. Between them are all the other flavors like vanilla, rocky road, the various sherbets, and turtle pecan.

That's especially popular in Georgia.

21. The FACT remains that, far left or not,
Obama has not been friendly to the middle class, or to seniors. Or to anyone else I listed.

Perhaps why the term "fringe" caused me to roll my eyes. He's way beyond pissing off any "fringe."

23. Until "centrists" figure out what the label means I'd say it is a stretch to claim
that is what most people are.

Now, I have a definition which is corporate and socially all over the map depending on what type of corporate they are but generally don't much care but those who self identify may have another definition that might more accurately describe them.
