Jerry Lewis supports AZ SB1070!
No not that Jerry Lewis, this one...

Mesa Republican Jerry Lewis on Thursday morning submitted 1,187 signatures to the Secretary of State's Office. If at least 621 of those signatures are from valid registered voters in east Mesa's Legislative District 18, Lewis qualifies to run against Senate President Russell Pearce in the Nov. 8 recall.(snip)

Members of Citizens for a Better Arizona, which collected the signatures for the recall, have said they do not believe Pearce reflects the goals of District 18.(snip)

Lewis called SB 1070 a "good start" but said he would tackle illegal immigration somewhat differently.(snip)

In addition to Lewis, Republican Olivia Cortes and Libertarian Michael Kielsky have filed paperwork to begin collecting signatures.

Citizens for a Better Arizona is a coalition of Democrats and immigrant supporters who got the recall started and now dropped the ball on running a candidate that would change anything. What a waste of time and money. It's just embarrassing.
(And no I don't live in the district or I would have tried a run)
