Keith's new boss will make Current lib but not totally Lib (BORHMAN, from CNN)
He told Mistah KURTZ he will counter Faux "which is now mainstream, tells a lot of people what to think," but will not steer Current into an exclusively Lib forum, but that "nobody knows my politics. I did (blah blah) Ronald (RAYGUN) blah blah..."

1. What I'd love to see is a network that rather trying to counter another network, just simply shows
the viewer current events breaking news and top stories from north america and around the globe.
I find bias rather unappealing and can't bring myself to watch much opinion anymore.

Sort of like when the weather channel used to tell you the weather and mtv used to play music videos.

2. Exactly. I've always wanted a level playing field, not propaganda for my side either
My local wingnut duelist has actually said Keith is a counter-balance to LIMBOsevic. I said that Keith has a miniscule number of audience by comparison. Then he said I should be satisfied when Ed SHULTZ got a show.

I don't like an echo chamber. I do opposition research. And there are some yakkers on my side as much as on the enemy's who are unlistenable to me.

Back when Keith was featuring David SHUSTER daily "reporting" that his sources were saying KKKarl would be indicted within two weeks, and when it never happened and SHUSTER identified his sources as "lawyers with experience with grand juries, who have had clients in front of grand juries," BUT who had NO inside information of THIS grand jury or of THIS prosecuter's office so they were acting as PUNDITS not as actual witnesses, I made my displeasure known with one of my futile e-mails to Keith and SHUSTER. That's an echo chamber, just like Faux for th'other side. Got no answer.

3. The problem with that concept... from a business point of view is that it doesn't make money.
That's why HLN went to mostly "views" and not news.

See, when you're out to make a lot of money from your tv station, you have to get people to watch it often, and watch it for long periods of time.
That's why they used these talking heads and use such an entertaining platform.

Anyone who watches the overseas stations knows that after 10-20 minutes, you're caught up on the top stories. You can sit there and watch it replay over and over or you can go do something else. When you chose the latter, you're no longer watching. When you're no longer watching, they're no longer making money.

4. of course not, that wouldn't be balanced
just like when PBS refuse to air "The Panama Deception" because it wasn't balanced. Hell, it was THE balance to 100% media war-hype.
