Why can't we boldly state the obvious? When Norquist and Limbaugh
Edited on Fri Aug-12-11 07:40 AM by Maraya1969
and Hannity and Boehner and all the rest of the "no tax" group state their repulsion toward taxes they are only speaking about their own money and how they don't want to contribute to society. It is not about ideology at all. It is all about their own bottom line. Their corporate jets, their multiple homes, their fancy dancy life. When Democrats say they are in favor of taxing the wealthy they know they will be paying more in taxes and they are OK with it because they are not greedy bastards.

They have a vested selfish interest in what they say and how they manipulate people into coming around to their "political" beliefs.

1. I think that we should make examples out of these rich anti-tax
people. I think they need to be called out as often as possible. I don't think the people that follow them realize that their, "leaders" are making money off of them and it might do well to let them know.

2. It's not that they act in their own self-interest
it's that they convince others they are acting in theirs.

4. It's a 'perfect storm' of
Greed + Self-Interest + Shameless Opportunism ("More for ME!!!")...

Meeting

...a rigid, simplistic ("GubMint BAD, BidNess GOOD"), hierarchical,
authoritarian, bigoted and fundamentally nasty Cult.

It could be Amway or Mary Kay, but its political. With "Movement
Conservative" True Believers / Talk-Radio-Listeners in their own
little bubbles. As isolated and cleft from the human race as any
Pod Person in a 50's sci-flick, but with more animus and hostility,
instead of the vacant stare.

6. Because these days being "bold" means you have nothing left to lose.
that's why we are bombarded with lies and platitudes.
