Run Perry, Run! Please?
I have heard several folks on TV that say they hope Rick Perry runs for the Presidency. As if he will be the easiest of all the Repubs to beat.

I would be very careful what I wished for if I were these folks.

He's a spitting image of George W Bush, except maybe a couple of IQ points lower. But that appeals to most Republicans that voted for Bush in droves. It's like they can validate their vote for Dubya by voting for Perry. And many would vote for Bush again if they could. It's only Democrats that hold him in such low esteem. Republicans can't say it out loud but they still love Dubya. And they would show that love by voting for Rick Perry.

Please don't ask him to run. He has trouble written all over him.

1. Perry is a serious threat
and the results of him winning would be worse than Bush.

17. Batshitcrazy
Pretty much nails it for Perry.

"Dumber than George and meaner than Dick," as one apt description goes.

4. I think you are right.
He's even crazier and dumber than the little chimp. He actually believes all that theocratic horseshit that he spouts. Even Little Boots wasn't that dumb, which verges on science fiction. "Dumber than Bush" - did anyone ever think it possible that those words could be used to describe a candidate for POTUS??

The crazies will love this guy.

5. I agree...the media is already ginning up to crown him...
the "heir apparent".... He is as insane as Bachmann, as stupid as a stump, and as dangerous, given his theocratic dominionist religious views as either Bachmann or Palin.

7. His presence in the primary is very bad news for us
It's not just that he's likely to win and be a huge threat in the general election.

He makes several of the other GOP candidates redundant. Thinning the herd, so to speak, concentrates campaign contributions, and makes it easier to turn debates into campaign stump speeches rather than making (and responding to) outrageous attacks on one's co-aligned opponents.

I don't know why people believe the Repukes have a chance next year. Mittens has more chance then Perry.

9. Can't we just bash Obama and let the chips fall where they may?
I mean come on ... Obama is a Republican too ... and he is hell bent on killing social security.

So come on, how bad could Perry be ... stop trying to scare Democrats into voting for Obama!!!

As Book Tour Begins, George W. Bush's Favorable Rating at 44%

Nearly two years after leaving office, Bush's image remains more negative than positive by Frank Newport

PRINCETON, NJ -- As he begins promoting his new memoir "Decision Points," former President George W. Bush receives a 44% favorable and 53% unfavorable rating from Americans. This is up slightly from a 40% favorable rating in January 2009 when he left office, but far below the 87% he received in the aftermath of the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks.

14. The media will have a field day with Perry
Not to mention Stewart and Colbert. And then Letterman, Leno, and Conan. He's a joke in Texas. It's just that most people outside of Texas haven't caught on yet.

Perry is worse than Bush, if possible. However; I think those who voted for Bush will flock to Perry. I can't imagine anyone entertaining the idea of voting for another Republican TX governor, but I fear that, as a nation, we've learned little from our past electoral mistakes.

18. Well as much as I'd like to get him the hell out of Texas -
he will put Obama's austerity programs to shame with his efforts. I have no doubt about that at all.
