6. Please. Calling Repukes on their bullshit would require guts
and that is something I have not seen from any mainstream Democrat in years.

15. Using this quote wouldn't require calling out the Republicans,
just the clip of him saying it, the voiceover and facts, figures. A :30 spot isn't the place to discuss what fucks the Republicans are.

4. Don't forget this line, either
Romney went on to suggest raising the retirement age rather than increasing taxes on business in order to fix entitlement programs' shortfalls.

10. Hey, Huntsman needs to stay in this race
Responding to Fehrnstrom, Jon Huntsman spokesman Tim Miller took a shot at Romney on Twitter, replying "Was American Pad & Paper Company a person/friend?" Romney's firm, Bain Capital, acquired American Pad & Paper in 1992 and closed two of its American plants, laying off 385 workers. It later went bankrupt.

5. Yes, his FAVORITE people, at that!
From the blurb at TPM:

Romney went on to suggest raising the retirement age rather than increasing taxes on business in order to fix entitlement programs' shortfalls.

He really tips his hand, showing he has zero empathy with working people.

and was rolling!!!!! The crowd was obviously raucous enough to get AP's attention to even report on it (the report indicated that he seemed to be having some "problems" if I remember correctly).

you to have govt-sponsored healthcare. Corporations don't need it, so why should you?

Of course, I don't know how many Democrats want us to have govt-sponsored healthcare either. **sigh**

22. corporation are UNIONS
corporations are unions of owners acting in concert under a single voice to advance their collective interests.

whenever corporatist rail against unions of laborors i remind them that corporations are really no different.

if they complain that workers shouldn't be permited to bargain collectively, i ask them why they believe that owners should be permitted to run their companies as a collective through a single ceo.

Edited on Thu Aug-11-11 03:33 PM by kenny blankenship
They are people, and you aren't. Just watch Congress and Obama at work if you doubt it.

Welcome to the legions of the Unpersons: the faceless masses of low net worth individuals, the rightless voiceless workers, the longterm unemployed, and marginally employed, the disenfranchised "citizens".

25. Maybe a corporation should run for President
According to the U.S. Constitution, it would have to be 35 years of age and a natural born citizen. The U.S. Supreme Court has never defined the latter term, but 28 U.S. Code 1332 describes corporations as "citizens". I'd like to see Colbert buy a 35 year old corporation (a small one that can be purchased cheaply) and apply for a dba like "Greed, Inc." or "Outsourcing, Inc." and run it for President of the United States on the Corporatist Party. He could make the case that he doesn't believe in creating jobs for the country's sake but is only dedicated to the bottom line, which could very well include transferring any and all technology and jobs to China. He could state that he doesn't feel the corporation is obligated to the U.S. taxpayer at all, the latter who fund the U.S. Navy to the tune of billions of dollars to patrol the high seas to insure his corporation can safely do business everywhere in the world. He could proclaim himself CEO and appear on its behalf at debates. He could ask his millions of viewers to sign petitions to get Greed, Inc. on the ballot in every state and even try to make the case that it should be allowed to appear in national televised debates.
