Florida Governor fighting Obama healthcare in court, signs up for GOVERNMENT HEALTHCARE, $400 a year
As wealthy as he is? A guy that pleaded the 5th, 75 times for bilking Medicare for over 4 BILLION DOLLARS? A guy who spent 70 million of his own money to buy a race? Is this a joke?

Scott pays $400 a year for health coverage | August 10, 2011 | The Associated Press | HT Politics

TALLAHASSEE

Gov. Rick Scott, a critic of the federal health care overhaul, is paying less than $400 a year for health insurance for himself and his wife.

While Scott is accepting no salary for his job as governor, the multimillionaire and former hospital chain executive chose to enroll in the taxpayer-subsidized health insurance plan offered by the state of Florida. Scott is among nearly 32,000 people in state government who pay relatively low health insurance premiums. It’s a perk that is available to high-ranking state officials, including those in top management at all state agencies. Nearly all 160 state legislators are also enrolled in the program that costs just $8.34 a month for individual coverage and $30 a month for family coverage.

Brian Burgess, a spokesman for Scott, confirmed the governor and his wife are enrolled in the state health insurance plan, but refused to discuss why Scott signed up. He called the governor’s health care coverage “private matters.”

The health insurance coverage provided to Scott used to be free for top state officials until 2010. Rank-and-file state workers pay $50 a month for individual coverage and $180 a month for family coverage. Married couples working in state government also pay the same amount as Scott and legislators.

15. Yes, demand every elected official that disagrees with government healthcare, they give it up!
THAT SHOULD BE THE CAMPAIGN. PUT THEM INTO OUR HEALTHCARE SYSTEM, MEDICARE AND SOC SEC.

That could be the whole campaign!

14. If everyone, focused on the healthcare gov officials receive, it would scare the shit out of them!
Imagine, one organized theme. The healthcare they receive. The healthcare they NEVER MENTION.

Not even during a crises! When they act like they are trying to fix it...why do they never mention what seems to be working for them?????

16. Most abusers of safety net programs are Republicans
They are uniformly 100% duped by the 5,000,000 TV's with 15 cable news channels each - all airing the same damn propaganda. Some are union workers and can't put 2 & 2 together as to why they're doing well.

largest fraud settlement in US history.

and he is trying to stop those who want obama healthcare in the state. and he offers no replacement, unlike Vermont.

28. The Florida Governor has NINE law suits filed against him for crazy stuff!
Like wanted to narrow down to TWO people that check the text book content for schools. Two people cannot do that. They cannot review all of the books in time,,,you know the books printed in Texas where he came from? And, he also wants to be the one to pick these two "klowns" who will rubber stamp the school text books coming from TX. That is one of the nine lawsuits.

Floridian's are weary.

33. white collar crime
is killing this country. And just in monetary terms it is FAR more costly than street crime.

Americans are crazy to put up with this kind of exploitation.
