The Grand Ol' Party
These stars believe in small government, tax deduction, and conservative family values. Or at least that's what their party stands for. One thing's certain: these famous Republicans stand apart from the majority of Hollywood figures who lean left politically. Check out our list of celebrities who are proud to be Republican.

1. Some of those are pretty sketchy...
Yeah, Arnold, Nugent, Norris, Kelsey Grammer, etc. Those are obvious. But the others are sort of based on conjecture or somewhat outdated. I mean yeah Clint Eastwood has been a registered Republican since I was a teenager and he was mayor of Carmel, CA. But he's also openly said that there are a lot of policies he's not down with and that the party has changed since he became politically involved. And some of the other ones also. While I'd be more than happy for their team to have Britney Spears, calling her a Republican is really based on that one quote about supporting the president.

7. I agree. . .the lists always are. . .
. . .Republican or Democrat for the celeb to be counted I think they should be an outspoken partisan. The criteria is pretty flimsy. Party registration and voting patterns are deceiving. If someone votes for Obama or supports some of his initiatives does that identify them as Democrat

He is not reactionary.

6. Have some of them even LOOKED at...
...the Republican party lately? How the hell can Kelsey Grammer make the pro-gay marriage statement that he made and then act as though the Republican party is the one that respects the kind of "individualism" that would make gay marriage possible? What rock is he living under? Clint Eastwood sounds as though he isn't sure what the republicans stand for at all.

28. Kelsey Grammer is a libertarian, I think.
It's all about priorities.

He prioritizes tax cuts over any kind of equality or freedom even though he claims to believe in both. Which sounds like a lot of libertarians, now that I think about it.

14. He lost his mind when he lost the moustache, perhaps?
Besides, he's originally Canadian! Didn't become a citizen until 1998.

The rich are often Republicans--they want to hang on to THEIR MONEY, you see. And Alex is pretty frigging rich, with his thoroughbred horse ranch and winery.... http://www.jeopardyinfo.com/JeopardyCast.htm

He's also not the "intellectual sweetheart" everyone thinks he is--listen to him repeatedly uttering his two favorite phrases--'fuck' and 'son of a bitch!'

Like denying marriage to couples who want it? That's the first thing that comes to mind when I hear that phrase.

Matthew McConaughey???? Adam Sandler just broke my heart. I LOVED him. Dammit! I just bought a bunch of Sandler movies to stream...and would NEVER have done that had I known I was giving $$$ to a rethug. :grr:

I've already stopped watching Bruce Willis, Clint Eastwood, Kelsey Grammer, Mel Gibson, Arnold, Stallone, and Chuck Norris ANYTHING...on principle.

almost never allowed anyone on that show who wasn't a card carrying repug.

13. I saw 30 second rate B movie people
but no real celebs or stars. When an actor or actress have no imagination (which repubs don't)they can't be very good at their craft. Repubs have no emphathy and that's what good artists draw from.

could be but just about everyone else associated with the Whedon-verse is extremely (and very vocally) liberal. I would think it'd be hard to be a repub in that big a group of liberals...

The actress who portrayed Anya is supposed to be a big Republican supporter. She once commented something about understanding why we'd invade Iraq because we need the oil or some such thing.
