Police overwhelmed amid 'total anarchy' without cause
ON a narrow side street beside an estate in east London, a young child emerged from an open door to find out what everyone was looking at.

Seeing him, his mother turned around and screamed at him to go back. "F . . king get inside," she shouted as she rushed him in. "Shut the door, it's not safe."

No more than a few metres away, hundreds of hooded youths armed with bricks and bottles were fighting with lines of riot police.

A press photographer was targeted by men who tried to steal his camera and smashed a bottle over his head. Blood spattered the pavement as he was helped away.

In the face of some of the worst violence of the past three days, the police were forced to withdraw from the area around the Pembury Estate in Hackney amid victorious chants of "London's burning".

By nightfall, the street was carpeted with a thick layer of glass, rubbish and masonry. Then, with no uniforms in sight, the mood shifted. Young men passed around cannabis and queued to loot a convenience store. One man stood outside holding a crate of stolen beer cans and handing them out to passers-by. "I ain't carrying them home," he said. Others stood around the smouldering wrecks of six burnt-out vehicles and posed for photos on their camera phones.

because people don't riot without cause.

11. Soccer (football) hooliganism is a symptom, not a cause.
I suppose we should all stop playing and watching soccer now. And basketball. And hockey.

Get thee real.

3. Idiots.
Others stood around the smouldering wrecks of six burnt-out vehicles and posed for photos on their camera phones.

Doesn't anybody learn???

NO EVIDENCE.

Now, Britain has 4.4 million public-area surveillance cameras that are monitored by the police already, but I assume that the rioters took care of those pretty quickly. If not breaking them, then at least painting them. SO DON'T TAKE PICTURES OF YOURSELF!!!
