S&P Is Now Maxwell Smart. "Would you believe..."
Anyone remember Maxwell Smart?

He'd give one rationale and, when the obvious flaws in it were pointed out he'd say "Would you believe..." followed by some second rationale, making it obvious to everyone that he was full of it and fishing for explanations.

S&P acted exactly like that, making it obvious to everyone that they were simply looking for an excuse for the downgrade.

1. What part of reality do you not see?
S&P had the courage to do the correct thing. We cannot keep going on as we have been.

If we do not heed this wake up call the rest will follow and then what?

5. Do really think we can keep our AAA rating as we dive deeper and deeper into debt
and do nothing to increase the government's revenue stream?

No increase in the revenue stream. with slash & burn spending cuts that are being propose, will turn this country into a 3rd world status. Then we will not be able to even pay the interest on the borrowing, let alone pay out for Social Security and Medicare. We collapse in on ourselves and take the rest of the world with us.
We could end up being invaded and taken over by Mexico via the drug lords, with only us citizen defending the country. Why? Because the military will be too busy guarding the Well-To-Do. That is the direction we are headed, guided by some very powerful people.

9. My point is the rating is simply part of the game they're playing,
it might hurt us, but if they can rate junk CODs AAA, then they have no business rating anything.

3. The fact remains that they were obviously fishing for an explanation.

It's difficult to escape that.

And I am able to see reality quite clearly, thank you.

8. Moody's and Fitch are cowards who don't have the guts to say, "raise taxes" like S&P.
