I find it fascinating that the sheer scale of the right-wing hate machine has not become a topic in the media discussions surrounding the shootings in Arizona. Today's main talking point from the Frank Luntz approved right-wing propaganda mills is that the violence inspiring language and symbols in American politics is endemic in both parties and completely equal in style and scale. It would seem obvious that this is hardly true.
In the case of size, the right-wing has built an gargatuan media structure. Hell, they even have their own unabashedly partisan network FOX News. Rush Limbaugh is carried on hundreds of stations and the words that issue forth from his greasy lips rain down on almost every square inch of American soil that gets radio waves. In addition to Rush, there are all his clones. From Dr. Laura to Boortz to hundreds of local right-wingers that fill the airwaves with right wing hate until Rush gets back on the air the next day.
There is simply no comparison and things most definitely are not equal. The right-wing media hate machine dwarfs anything even remotely similar on the left.
If things are so equal, where is our FOX News? Were is our army of hate merchants on the radio waves?
