Another NSS moment: Dems warn long-term jobless could derail recovery
Edited on Thu Aug-04-11 01:19 PM by dixiegrrrrl
No Shit Sherlock.

"it's the alarming number of long-term jobless that is causing fresh concern for Democratic lawmakers.

About 42 percent of the nation's 14.1 million unemployed have been out of work for at least six months, and nearly one in three has been jobless more than a year. Those numbers -- still near record levels set last year -- could be a sign of chronic labor market problems that could derail any lasting economic recovery, according to a report Thursday from Congress' Joint Economic Committee."

7. No need to worry. Once Obama is re-elected he's gonna fix those nasty Republicans.
That's when we'll see the real Obama. He's just rope-a-doping them in this term. Next term he'll float like a butterfly and sting like a bee. It's a multi-dimensional chess match he's playing. The average person has no hope of understanding how deep he is. Pretty soon he'll have the GOP right where he wants them. Just vote for him in 2012 and you'll see.

8. Yeah, loved this sentence in thearticle:
many unemployed workers have been unable to find new jobs despite Labor Department data showing there were nearly 3 million job openings in May.

It makes it sound like 3 millions job openings is a huge amount, but with 14.1 million people unemployed, it's just a tiny drop in the bucket.
