Thinking Ahead To 2012: Blackmail Shouldn't Pay
As disappointed as I am with President Obama for knuckling under to Teab@gger blackmail, I am equally certain that I don't want ANY of the Republican presidential candidates out there, announced or playing coy, in the White House on January 21st, 2013. I hope and pray that our flaccid, kumbaya-obsessed, lets-be-nice-to-everybody Democratic presidential campaign has the guts and vision to remember to tie the likely GOP presidential candidates to this and other acts of political blackmail when the dust settles down and the Flurry with the Fringe on the Top rolls out the Republican presidential nominee next summer. I hope that some kind-hearted, soft-handed Pollyanna bothers to note that certain of the likely Republican nominees--notably Bachmann, Pawlenty, and Perry--have particularly close ties to the "Tea Party" lunatics.

I could imagine a poster with Perry's mug and the headline "Blackmail" at the top with the Texas legal statute defining and criminalizing blackmail listed to one side of "Slick Rick's" picture. Of course, such hard-hitting ads might be stronger than our Romper Room re-election committee might be willing to print, air, or distribute.
