Because 3/4 of the Republicans assumed it was a win for Republicans. Yup. Obama must've really "won big" judging by those numbers.

People here are also forgetting how many of these individual Congressional votes are for show, and only determined after the numbers are whipped.

8. Don't the Reps (tea bagger exception) usually vote on what their master's tell them to vote for?
It wouldn't surprise me that the 174 Rep votes were the normal GOP block.
