Yup, I'm back there--again. I just can't forget the betrayal of the American people on the public option, and that we could have had it with reconciliation, had the White House, just been supportive.

We had the votes then for a public option through reconciliation, and still it didn't happen.

Like so many, I'm shell shocked about the debt deal. But I shouldn't be and nor should you. Anyone who followed the health care debate could see all this coming. Then, as now, the public statements coming from the White House bore virtually no reality to the behind-the-scenes double dealing and horse trading.

This morning the White House is calling it a compromise, not precisely what the White House wants. This is the same bullshit we heard on health care and the public option. But even more tragically back then, in the days when Democrats controlled all three branches of government, we could have passed the public option through reconciliation, had this been an objective of the White House.

1. We could have 90 D Senators and 400 D Reps
And the White House would bend the fuck over backwards to accommodate the Republicans.

2. Same thing with the continuation of the Bush tax cuts. Fooled us twice. What happens next

when we get taken three times? (There are probably other examples of major "caves" we're not counting here.}

They take your country away, shamelessly. Nice knowing you, America.

3. after 8 years of the Bush crime family

and after 30 years of VooDoo Economics for those who understood that trickle down would never work, and for those of us who have been paying attention,

this was all so predictable. this debt "deal" is a sham and a cover for a very very weak President who believes only in dealing with terrorists and who kicks the can down the road by forming right wing "bipartisan" commissions to do what he doesn't have the guts to do. I have theories about why, but still can't understand him.

It's all Bullshit.

4. Don't forget the Bush tax cuts....
That's 3 times he "really wanted" to do something, but just couldn't get it done. Which would be fine if there was any evidence at all on all 3 of those things that he had fought hard to the bitter end and just lost. But on all 3 he signalled early and he signalled often that he was will to "negotiate" and kept moving the goal posts along with the teatards.

How many times are people going to fall for this crap.
