2. This is a link to Speaker Boehner's Summary of the deal presented to the GOP Caucus

I didn't realize we were taking Speaker Boehner's desperate attempt to keep his job as the Gospel truth of it.

What Boehner forgot to mention to his colleagues: Before December 23, they will be forced to vote on either revenue generation recommended by the Joint Committee, or see massive cuts to defense and district related pet projects. They'll get to explain to their constituents why voting against revenue was more important than defense spending and infrastructure projects in their districts.

(What will actually happen is this: the GOP will vote for closing tax loopholes and getting rid of subsidies rather than do that: you can bookmark this thread and discuss it with me before December 23. :-))

I would probably mark it in some way as Boehner's representation of the plan to his caucus, however, as that seems like a more informative way to post it.
