Payback may be coming for congressman's 'disloyalty'
http://www.dispatch.com/live/content/local_news/stories/2011/07/28/payback-coming.html

U.S. Rep. Jim Jordan's open defiance of Speaker John Boehner's efforts to solve the debt-ceiling crisis could cost the Urbana Republican his safe seat in next year's election.

Two Republican sources deeply involved in configuring new Ohio congressional districts confirmed to The Dispatch today that Jordan's disloyalty to Boehner has put him in jeopardy of being zeroed out of a district.

"Jim Jordan's boneheadedness has kind of informed everybody's thinking," said one of the sources, both of whom spoke only on condition of anonymity. "The easiest option for everybody has presented itself.

Addressing the story on his radio show this afternoon, conservative Fox News host Sean Hannity called the potential retribution against Jordan “disgraceful.” Listen here:

Boehner Seeks Payback Against Jordan

The National Review reports Boehner’s response to the article: “Jim Jordan and I may not always agree on strategy, but we are friends and allies, and the word retribution is not in my vocabulary. I look forward to continuing to serve with him in the U.S. House after the redistricting process in Ohio is complete, and for many years to come.”

1. Those who wish Pres. Obama would act more like Republicans should take cautionary note.

2. Yeah
I don't know about some people but I don't want a left-wing authoritarian version of the Tea Party either. It really doesn't even fit in our makeup IMHO.

3. You truly believe this kind
of hardball politics does not happen among Democrats? Now that was a funny... the most recent example of using redistricting to force a result was actually Wiener... but there is a LONG history of party machines (on both sides) doing this.

10. True, he needs to start now, acting like a Democrat or he could
face a similar fate. I see his poll numbers are plunging among his base. Maybe he thinks he can win without them, but that is foolish.

It's not too late for him to remember that no REpublican will vote for him no matter how much he gives them. So that's a lost cause.

If there are cuts to SS and the other Social Safety net programs, that plunge will be even worse.

5. I think Republicans should be up in arms over this
I have a mind to call Boner's office and urge him to adopt even more stringent conservative principles in his bill. Force President Obama to ride a mechanical dinosaur down Pennsylvania Avenue all the way to the Creationist Museum where he will then have to proclaim Christian Evangelical beliefs as the official religion of the United States. He will then have to repeal the 13th amendment and sell himself and all non-billionaire Americans back into slavery. I think I'll also call Representative Jordan to urge that he seek these and even more conservative positions in the Boner Bill. Republicans need to get more and more conservative. Only the most brilliant conservative minds must devise new and improved policies that will help tighten Sean Hannity's asshole and take us into an ever greater conservative Nirvana. Let's all eat seed cakes as we take the ring on the long road to Mordor.

11. Well we are going to lose 2 seats this time...
Since the GOP has a 2 to 1 lead in the Dems here in Ohio...

Well, someone has got to go.
