If there is no debt deal, NO PAYCHECKS FOR CONGRESS.
No payments of their health insurance premiums. No free haircuts and franked mail. No travel stipends. Close the capitol gym. Etc, etc, etc.

"Shared sacrifice," after all.

3. Yes
Most are multi-millionaires, but a lot of the tea party crowd that got in aren't, and they are the ones screwing things up, so if it could be done, maybe they would realize the full extent of their actions. Sadly it won't get done because congress won't vote for something like that!

4. True, true, but...
It would at least hit the corp media as an issue. The staffers should be included, that would hurt the folks back home since I suspect most are from their State.

2. If that could be done, there would have been a clean
bill introduced and passed unanimously from both sides of the aisle by now.

They're all so independently wealthy they wouldn't even notice.

Symbolically, perhaps, actually, no.
