Payroll tax hike? Really? How about a tax on wall street transactions?
OH GOD NOOOOOOOOOOO WE CAN'T POSSIBLY DO THAT !!!!! STOP STOP YOU"RE KILLING US!!!! I NEED A NEW YACHT!!!!! Did I read this on the MSNBC ticker correctly? I thought Domenici & Simpson were talking about extending the payroll holiday, not hiking it

3. you do know that if they did that ... a lot of money would
be coming out of pension and retirement funds / 401K's and stuff because those funds are heavily invested in the market ....

5. If my memory serves me, this was a tax proposal that The Young Mr
Obama was quite enthused about when he ran for the Illinois Senate back in 2004. Its proponents have showed what a huge fiscal remedy it could be. Also, it might make it clear there is a value to supporting companies for the long term gain, and not just for the short term.
