Sharing: Drove to PostOffice in my large town/small Maryland city,

60 miles north of DC. Red area, repuke congresscritter. People here nice, nicely integrated.
Usually see a poster, sometimes a person 'protesting' outside of family-planning office on a main street. Today, big protest: people w graphic signs along major street for 10 or so blocks. Was angry to see them, wanted to ask What do you seek to accomplish? The good part:

Saw Electric signage, kind seen on highways warning of accidents ahead, and also saw a paper sign: PROTEST AHEAD. TO AVOID GRAPHIC PICTURES, FOLLOW DETOUR SIGNS.

Was happy to see this, really diminished my anger. Heading to closer-in DC suburb now, to visit friend in Chris VanHollen's district.

Not "I need to go help some babies in foster care" or "maybe I should give blood today" or "there's probably a hospice program that needs volunteers to stay with patients while their caregivers get out for an hour or two every week" or "I need to build houses for poor people" or "maybe the senior center is inundated because of the heat, and I should go buy them some water ice"

No matter how super-duper extra Catholic (or Baptist or whatever) you are, aren't there literally thousands of useful things you could be doing to make this a better world rather than spending your time making other people miserable?
