A friend posted about Norway and asked a question about who was responsible. A friend of hers - obvious Freeper - jumped in with the sarcastic comment about needing to ask. Of course it's those damn Muslims she opined. The friend of a friend went on about how moderate Muslims must speak out against this violence perpetrated by "their own or be complicit in the act." Now, I've read a book or two or twenty on RW European history since I like to keep an eye on the type of folks that put my relatives in concentration camps and gas ovens. So, my suspect list cast a wider net. I knew Hitler didn't kill 6M Jews on his own and that the same people who were/are rabidly antisemitic are just as enthusiastic about hating and killing Muslims. I posted on the thread that we shouldn't jump to conclusions, wait for the investigation to unfold and keep the victims families in our thoughts. The friend of the friend posted down thread that I didn't know what I was talking about. It had to be Muslims and it was Obama's fault. Once I learned it was a fundamentalist Christian, I asked if the friend of the friend was going to condemn the violence since it was someone from a church and not a mosque that committed this atrocity. Still waiting for a reply.
