Boehner Flips Flops In Less Than An Hour - Contradicts His Own Letter!
Edited on Fri Jul-22-11 07:18 PM by TomCADem
The bottom line is that for better or worse President Obama was offering cuts in entitlements in return for increased taxes at 4 to 1 ratio. Indeed, to try to make it easier for the House Republicans to pass it within the narrow confines of the Grover Norquist pledge, President Obama offered to simply allow the tax cuts for those making $250,000 to expire while making the remainder permanent. But this was not enough according to Boehner in this letter in which Boehner explains why he walked away from talks:

President Obama acknowledged this proposal, not a deal, in a press conference.

Boehner then holds a press conference in which he contradicts his letter, and suggests that he was close to an agreement, which then begs the question, then why did you walk away?

4. Compare his letter with a transcript of his press conference...
...he totally contradicts everything he said in writing just a few minutes before. Also, what about trying to bring in Health Care Reform into debt talks, yet Boehner accuses the White House of walking away from an agreement when Boehner and Kantor have said both in writing, as well as in person that they were not close to an agreement.

Boehner's letter directly contradicts his CYA efforts during his press conference.

financial lives; they WILL eat their own "poor" FIRST and then come after our poor if they get a chance. And THEIR "poor" aren't going to like it.

Boehner CAN'T fucking do anything about anything, except to try to get for his master's new transfusions of blood/lives.

That bullshit coming out of their own camp (McConnel?): no tax increase : no raise in the deficit ceiling - BUT - We won't default - that bullshit was dogwhistling to their financial constituents who are in fucking trouble, that the Repukes would see that they are taken care of if the Repukes bring this thing down on our heads. They were promising to divvy up the spoils from ruining America. I think I fucking hate them.
