DU already exposed this fraud..in Dec 08, but they are still in business. Here is earlier link:

... and they are still working the phones..beware of them...

please ...pass it on to all

This link discusses another organazation run by the same people..

http://thestoppedclock.blogspot.com/2010/05/is-breast-cancer-society-worthy-charity.html

Here is an excerpt from that link...

. But wait a second... There's the Cancer Fund of America, run by the same people, which has a poor overall rating. The BBB has this to say:
Cancer Fund of America solicits donations across the U. S., including locally, through telemarketers, direct mail and online. The BBB found that more than 99 percent of all cash donations to the organization pay professional fundraising costs, salaries for charity officials, consultant fees and other expenses related to the charity’s operations.

* * *

Cancer Fund of America and a related support group, Cancer Fund of America Support Services, Inc., reported they raised slightly more than $17 million in 2007, the most recent year in which public information is available. Of that total, Cancer Fund of America reported it donated $54,000 in cash to unrelated groups or individuals – or about 3/10 of 1 percent. Of that $54,000, however, $50,000 went to a court directed cancer charity as part of a settlement with the Georgia Governor’s Office of Consumer Affairs. The state alleged the charity gave out deceptive and misleading solicitations to consumers.

The salaries and benefit packages for charity president James T. Reynolds, Sr., two sons and a son-in-law totaled more than $537,000 for the same period.

Here is a very lengthy report from the Utah BBB that shows exactly how these scumbags work:
I guess sociopaths are everywhere, not just in politics......(it makes a facinating read, if you got the time)

2. May be best simply to not donate over the phone. If the entity sounds worthwhile, you can look it up

3. I'm with you
I used to tell phone solicitors that it is family policy to not answer ANY solicitations over the phone, and that they should send me some literature, and I will decide for myself. Of course, they never do.

Now, I use the words "Do Not Call list," and most quickly hang up. Even though I have had some assholes who claim to be immune.

5. It's telling to hear the resignation when you ask them specific questions.

I used to get a lot from the faux cops / firefighters. The "Firefighters Ball," et al. Don't know how their particular scam works, but they're in no hurry to tell you how much they actually send to their supposed beneficiaries.

But they come on with lines like, "Mr. ___, this Rock Magnum, calling for the County Sheriff's Dept.

"Oh, are you a deputy?"

(signficant pause) "Well ... no, I'm with the (fill in local police / fire name) Charity Trust Fund Ball Association."

... and downhill from there. I asked a dozen to send me literature. None did. Zero.

4. Never donate to anyone over the phone. What seems like a
charity could be a scam, or even a phishing attempt. Giving out your credit card information when someone calls you is always a bad idea.

In your own local community, there are excellent charities. Those, you can visit, talk to the directory, then make a decision. National charities have websites. You can go to those to see what they do. Plus there are charity-rating websites you can consult to see if your money will be used as you intend.
