The gimmick here is that the girl wears, over her clothing, a little top with a couple things that look like flowers. The doll latches on to the flower and makes sucking noises.

My daughter nursed her dolls the old fashioned way: she just pulled up her shirt and held the doll to her chest. (Hmmm . . . I wonder where she learned that?)

2. Not really new. That article is from 2009, and there were

a bunch of threads on this back then. I don't know if this is even available any longer, or if it ever reached the marketplace in any quantity.

On edit: Checking, I find "Bebe Gloton" currently available from Amazon affiliates and on eBay. Made in Spain. Over $100.

Back in the days, I was always amazed how robust a bebe's bluurps are.

20. It's new here. Not everyone buys their dolls in Europe.

http://newyork.cbslocal.com/2011/07/16/new-doll-that-teaches-how-to-breast-feed-causing-controversy/

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) – A new doll hitting stores in the U.S. is causing some controversy with parents. It’s called The Breast Milk Baby and it claims it teaches young girls how to breast feed.

The doll is made by Berjuan Toys, a company out of Spain. It comes with a special halter top that has two flowers where nipples would be. When a little girl puts on the top and holds the baby doll up the flowers, it makes suckling sounds.

4. LOL! I think it's funny. The Spanish are not as obsessed with breasts as Americans are
I think that's probably why we're all in shock here (tho my 4 grandparents were born in Spain, and I lived there for many years, so I guess you can say I'm Spanish too).

5. very true. Europeans have a mature view of sex and
are not obsessive and do not have hang ups about women's bodies.

13. If they're so mature, why the silly flowers on a top that goes

over a girls' shirt?

This has nothing to do with breast feeding, except that the doll makes noises. They could have easily dispensed with the silly top, and had another way for the baby to make noises. (By holding it's hand, for example. I used to do that when I was nursing. Or by pressing a button on the back of the neck.)

24. To begin with, breastfeeding is not a pornographic act...
Edited on Wed Jul-20-11 03:53 PM by Sarah Ibarruri
Little kids imitate what they see in life. Little girls put on high heels, hold a baby in their arms and rock the baby doll to sleep, etc. They have little cooking sets, high heels if they want, etc. Same thing with breastfeeding. And in other countries breastfeeding is not a pornographic act, as it is here.

Also, babies make noises at the nipple area, not far away from it (unless the baby is farting). Anyhow, that's the reason for the silly top.

31. Of course it's not. And SO it doesn't need to be turned
into a silly procedure with an extra top bursting with flowers.

The doll could have been designed to make the sucking noise whenever the girl pressed a button on the back of its neck, as she held the doll close. What would have been pornographic about that?

22. What do flowers on a top have to do with women's bodies?
Looks to me like they do have some hang-ups.

They could have made the same doll for a girl to use herself -- without the silly flowers. She'd know where to put the doll.

21. Right. That's why they turned nipples into flowers
on a top that a girl wears over her other clothing. They're not squeamish like Americans.

25. Mothers cover their nipples when they breastfeed, but don't go hide in a bathroom....
However, a few mothers will not cover completely. Depends.

In any case, breastfeeding is a normal part of life, and little girls are aware of it, even when they are NOT aware that babies come when a man sticks his penis in a woman.

Breastfeeding is common knowledge for little kids. Screwing is not, until they're older.

her dolls. But she did it without any special tops or instruction from me. Just pulled up her top and held the doll in position. The shirt and the doll covered her up, just as a baby covers up a nursing mother's bare skin.

No need for fake flowers.
