Wisconsin Democrats say likely to recall governor in 2012
http://www.reuters.com/article/2011/07/13/us-wisconsin-recalls-idUSTRE76C77Q20110713

(Reuters) - Wisconsin Democrats are increasingly confident that efforts to recall the state's Republican governor in 2012 will succeed, a top official said on Wednesday, after the party scored an early win in its battle to unseat Republicans who backed a controversial anti-union law.

Mike Tate, the chair of the Democratic Party of Wisconsin, said his party's sweep of six unusual primary races on Tuesday night had energized the party's base, and he also expected to seize a majority in the state Senate in August recall elections.

Tate said Tuesday's primary races, where six real Democrats were unsuccessfully challenged by six stealth Republicans running as Democrats, had served as a dry run for the party's get-out-the-vote operation. "What we're beginning to see is our momentum rolling downhill. Last night was a huge win for us," he said in a conference call with reporters.

Asked about a potential recall, he said: "The most likely scenario, and one that the Democratic Party will support, is a recall effort of Governor Walker in November of 2012."

We could do this several months earlier. Interesting that DPW wants to wait until November. I get it, though.

2. Not as many as you'd think. This is the most polarized place in the country right now.
Walker's approval rating is EIGHTY-SEVEN PERCENT with Republicans and NINE PERCENT with Democrats.

13. Damn. I hate to hear that. Didn't he slash a lot of jobs/rights
for people who voted for him? I may be stereotyping, but I'm thinking the firefighters usually lean right...

6. Who? DPW? Oh no, we are not stupid. It makes sense to take time and do it right.

AND to consolidate resources to tack this onto the POTUS election. Mike Tate and DPW have been doing a great job.

But thanks for your concern.

5. If nothing else, it will require the Kochs to spend extra $$$
to try to protect their favorite kulak.

Granted they and their super-rich buds have plenty of money to spend.

7. General election is generally better.
But, yes, a lot more damage might be done in the interim.

14. I don't think it's going to be a slam dunk by any means
Recalling Walker is going to be a very hard fight and it will take the right candidate (hello? Russ Feingold? are you listening?)

15. oh wow!
real Democrats can beat fake Democrats...who knew?

Anyone paying attention knows that this was a trap avoided, but newsflash for the writer of that article. Democrats will always "sweep" in a Democratic primary.

I'd love to see snotty Scotty forced out of office, but let's be honest with ourselves - this thing is a long shot. I think that some type of shake-up may occur - whether in the state senate, Govs. mansion, or something in the next regular election cycle.

I know I'm fired up and you don't want to piss off the Badger!
