6. I feel like that Aussie photographer that appears on The Weather Channel
DemoTex (in a heavy Aussie (NSW) accent):

Here I am mates, out on the extremely precarious catwalk of a bloody yank fire lookout tower, waiting for the elusive sunrise. Blimee! Kangeroo-down, old sport! Oh, mother of my dingo!, does this bloody camera have film? Digital? WTF does that mean? Fosters, please. Quick.

:hi:

7. LOL!
Sometimes your eloquence shines through. It was all Greek to me...until I got to "Fosters." :)

16. Cloud watching ameliorates the incredible sameness of being that I sometimes feel.
But most of the summer days here in the high desert are cloudless. Then I zero in on snags (standing dead trees) way down below me in the forest. I would treat the snag as a smoke and plot its exact position. I called that file "Snags I Have Known." I would also evaluate other aspects of the snag. One snag I even call "King Snag."

I thought my "Snags I Have Known" was something I would never mention to anyone, just because it was a way to relieve tedium. Then I found out (last year) that one USFS biologist is extremely interested in snags and even has a project mapping them. Was she ever excited about my diversion and the notes I had taken on snag location.
