It'll take some doing, and it will be painful, but we'll get through it.

So, from an historical point of view, we are doomed. History will leave us behind and we will be dead as Nebuchadnezzar's Babylon.

3. we are currently on the way to the ER...

In 20 years we well be flat on our backs being looked at by doctors

in 50 we will have been through the convulsions of several "fixes" until we finally bleed out.

All of this depends on the fact that we continue on the current path of blind stupidity.

if, along the way, we finally get someone that can kick ass and take names, politically speaking, then and only then will we have a chance to heal and recover.

USA is just another empire in decline. Unique, but following the same general pattern... over-extended military is a big downfall, typically.
