Beware Democratic politicians that say:"Republicans have good ideas too"
That's a consultant, focus group driven sentence( usually one who has ties to Axelrod) and needs to be challenged immediately by saying to the politician who said it:

"Name one"

Listen up Democratic incumbents: look at NY 26 Special Election and face the fact that DEFENSE of Medicare won that election....if you want to head back to Congress, you have to put yourself outside any semblance of allegiance to Obama - your allegiance should belong to the DEFENSE of SS and Medicare.

Now THAT'S political independence.

Or what passes for it circa 2011-12

1. There IS one good idea a Repuke could have: resignation.
;-)

Lack of defense of Medicare could sink the Dem Party in 2012.

3. Cutting Social Security and Medicare would destroy the Democratic party.
Not only would the Republicans regain control of the White House in 2012, but they'll have super majorities in the House and Senate as well to further push their agenda of reverse Robin Hood all the way to the max by completely privatizing Social Security and Medicare.
