Congresswoman shot: Sarah Palin Catching Heat

Gabrielle Giffords - Congresswoman Shot: Sarah Palin Catching Heat

Palin also had the Congresswoman's district on a map and marked with crosshairs.

As the blog Kateoplis points out, Gabrielle Giffords said "Sarah Palin has the crosshairs of a gun sight over our district and when people do that, they’ve gotta realize there are consequences to that action."

The Congresswoman, who's said to be out of surgery, was, sadly, correct.

To her credit, Palin wrote this statement on Facebook:
My sincere condolences are offered to the family of Rep. Gabrielle Giffords and the other victims of today's tragic shooting in Arizona. On behalf of Todd and my family, we all pray for the victims and their families, and for peace and justice.

With this, Palin can kiss any Presidential dreams goodbye

13. Words have power
and words like "Reload" and "Second Amendment remedies" and campaign posters with gun site targets on them will have an impact on people of all political stripes, particularly if they are nuts.

I don't know what the shooters political beliefs were, who he voted for, if he even voted. He has repeatedly heard words from people in positions of power or in the media that there are "second amendment remedies' to people you disagree with. It doesn't really matter what his political beliefs are. You will have a hard time convincing me that having crap like that actually passing for political discourse doesn't validate someone's insane beliefs.

Words have a long history of inciting horrible deeds. Sarah may think she's just being cute but there are people out there who are just looking for some justification to rationalize a violent act.

14. "To her credit?" Nothing more than pr talking points
No, "to her credit" would be admitting that putting cross hairs over a map may have been a bad idea.

But I'll pass on giving her any credit for a mealy mouthed condolence note that was probably written by someone else.

20. I wouldn't expect her to accept responsibility for anything.
That would imply that she has a conscience.
