Michele Bachmann: Flake, Joke, or To Be Taken Seriously

Is Michele Bachmann a Flake, Joke or to be taken seriously?

Yes, she seems to have no clue about history.
She is the constant butt of jokes because of how she flubs facts, like saying that John Wayne was from Waterloo Iowa when it was Serial killer John Wayne Gacey.

It's easy to react to her like you would react to comedians Donald Trump and Sarah Palin.

But when Chris Wallace asked her if she was a flake, presumably to let her debunk the reputation, she came back with a substantive response, and now, the right wing echo chamber is working hard to build cred for her, to make her look like a serious candidate-- one who "really cares."

They point out that she has a solid team with Campaign manager Ed Rollins, who handled Ronald Reagan's campaign, cutting through the accusations that he was a shallow actor.

Still when you look at her, it's hard to take her seriously. But it's always an advantage to be underestimated. There's no doubt she'll garner the tea party vote, but if people like Joe Scarborough and all of Fox News start making pretend she's not another joke, like Sarah Palin, that she's smart and serious, perhaps she WILL become a serious threat. Certainly, to achieve that, Ed Rollins will have to put a tight leash on her and her mouth.

Current numbers:

She's a flake 36% from 42 votes

She's a joke 25% from 29 votes

She must be taken seriously 33% from 38 votes

Not sure 6% from 7 votes

116 votes

3. Her agenda is dangerous for this country
She is loved by many, they see her as speaking for them.
You ignore her at your peril.
You may find her quite a bit to the right of center, but that does not negate her getting the nomination

6. Agreed
And if the President is not seen to be pulling the economy out of a tailspin, then he's history. The independents went for the 'unknown' last election, they just might do it again, if they are not convinced that she is any worse than he is.

John Wayne Gacy gaffe delights Michele Bachmann opponents

By Melissa Bell

On “Fox News Sunday,” Michele Bachmann told Chris Wallace, “Of course a person has to be careful with statements that they make. I think that's true.” Two days later, she may have wished she had followed her own advice a bit more closely. After her presidential campaign kickoff, Bachmann stepped into a cultural joke minefield by comparing herself to John Wayne of Waterloo, Iowa. The only John Wayne that ever lived in Waterloo was the serial killer John Wayne Gacy.

The mistake has left an easy opening for a flank attack. David Letterman spent four minutes on the incident Monday night, discussing the “ugly and dumb things”politicians say.

On “Morning Joe,” Joe Scarborough shared a laugh with former Minnesota governor TimPawlenty, a Bachmann rival, when Scarborough asked, “Do you have any serial killers from your hometown?”

Bachmann told CNN that people make mistakes ..........

Let us hope such people never have their finger on the nation's nuclear arsenal!

9. How about All of the Above?
Yes, she's a flake and a joke, but as Bill Moyers said on the radio this morning, the tea party has become the nominating wing of the republican party. No candidate will get the republican nomination without the approval of the tea baggers.

10. There needs to be an "All of the above" option.
She IS a nutjob, and she IS a flake. So was our previous President. Yet the people of this country gave him two terms as POTUS. I also look at the trash that was elected in 2010, like my governor, Nikki Haley. She is an imbecile. Then there's Gov. Wanker, Chris Christie, pRick Scott... Because of that, I have very little faith that the people of this country will see this woman as the ignorant kook she is.
