I can't believe I share a country with these people.
The people (and the press) that stare doe-eyed and rapt in attention to the words of Michelle Bachmann, Chris Christie, Scott Walker, and others.

People that actually buy in to Birtherism, Tentherism, Deatherism.

The principled difference of opinion has changed into intellectual hegemony.

As Hicks said in the movie "Aliens", "How do I get out of this chicken-shit outfit?"

6. According to the Firth study, we have a larger anterior cingulate cortex
than conservatives.

http://blogs.discovermagazine.com/intersection/2011/06/13/liberals-are-from-the-acc-conservatives-are-from-the-amygdala/

One of the functions of the anterior cingulate cortex is to monitor uncertainty and conflicts. Thus, it is conceivable that individuals with a larger ACC have a higher capacity to tolerate uncertainty and conflicts, allowing them to accept more liberal views.

3. Oh, come on...you must have known people who will believe anything shouted at them.
The human species has no shortage of idiots who will always agree with the last thing they just heard.

4. Another "Aliens" quote that comes to mind in this situation
"I don't know which species is worse. You don't see them fucking each other over for a goddamn percentage."

5. What do you mean, "share"? This isn't YOUR country - it's THEIRS!
The 60-80% who don't agree with them all the time are commie liberal dirtbags who can't wait to hand God's America over to the atheist Muslim terrorists.

7. And they want to "take it back"

From whom, I can never figure out, but someone took it and boy are they pissed.

8. You have put into words something I think several times a day, for all kinds of reasons.
I'm pretty old (67) and extremely dug in, but I'm starting to have a lot of discomfort with this. I have no idea what to do about it.

9. continuing the alien quotes

11. Because only one of those things managed to wipe out my entire crew in less than 24 hours
Language warning, quotes are literal from the movie alien and contain profanity
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

actually mangling them works even better

"Just one of those things managed to wipe out my entire crew in less than 24 hours. And if the colonists have found that ship then there's no telling how many of them have been exposed. Do you understand?"

becomes

"Just one of those things managed to wipe out my entire Nation/constitution in less than 8 years. And if the corporations have found that ship then there's no telling how many of them have been exposed. Do you understand?"

and

"Goddammit, that's not all! 'Cause if one of those things gets down here then that WILL be all! And all this, this bullshit that you think is so important, you can just kiss all that goodbye!"

becomes

"Goddammit, that's not all! 'Cause if one of those things gets elected president again then that WILL be all! And all this, this bullshit that you think is so important, you can just kiss all that goodbye!"

and the ever famous (doesn't need rewriting)

"Did IQs just drop sharply while I was away?"

usually uttered whilst failing to skip fox news on a channel flip through
