"Uhh, and why is a Spanish language show giving American weather?"
Uhh, maybe because it's an American television station, Brian?

Is Brian Kilmeade Stupid, Insensitive, or Just Plain Racist? We Report, You Decide

Reported by Aunty Em - June 24, 2011

Fox and Friends, the happy talk morning show on Fox “News,” is one of the more insidious programs running on the propaganda network. Beneath all the fun and games of the Three Stooges* on the Curvy Couch is the steady drum beat of Fox “News” memes. The program is often the day-setter for these memes, which are then spun throughout the day, until they tumble from Greta Van Susteren’s mouth at the other end of the day. Aside from the Friends' obviously scripted and telepromptered talking points are all the unscripted ad libs. Generally, but not exclusively, these fall into one of three categories: 1). Something dismissive and opinionated uttered under Steve Doocy’s breath; 2). Righteous indignation from Gretchen Carlson fighting for Christ; 3). Brian Kilmeade saying something so brainless, that it even stuns his co-workers. This is about the latter and yesterday’s Fox and Friends was one for the books, or News Hounds.

At one point, as an introduction to one of Doocy’s weather reports, a segment producer thought it might make a fun segue to first show Tom Hanks dancing up a storm on a recent Univision weather report. It seems so innocent. What could possibly go wrong?

1. I've been sort of learning Spanish from Telemundo and I can tell
you about rain and other forecasts but cannot order a taco...I have much learning to do. I saw part of that and Hanks was a hoot, the weather girl was just giddy over him...

7. "Quiero un taco lengua, por favor"
Edited on Sun Jun-26-11 01:30 PM by Chan790
"I'd like a taco with tongue meat, please."

Substitute the meat you'd prefer for "lengua"

al carbon: grilled flank steak
carne asada: marinated steak
barbacoa: roasted marinated beef
carnitas: braised pork
al pollo: chicken
al pastor: spit-roasted pork side
al vegetales: vegetarian, usually peppers and onions and pico de gallo
de pescado: fish
picadillo: very spicy ground beef, usually with potatoes, onion and corn mixed in.
cuitlacoche (or huitlacoche): corn smut fungus. Cuitlacoche supposedly meant "raven shit" in Nahuatl, the language of the native pre-colonial Mexican people.

My favorite is cuitlacoche (it's pronounced wit-la-co-chay)

19. The first time I saw it...(possibly disturbing picture)
I had a ":wtf: That corn has cancer!" moment. That's to say nothing that it turns jet-black, squeaks and smells awful when you cook it. It tastes awesome though, like truffles.

21. My friend and I were in Patzcuaro for dia de muertos...
and we went to this little hole in the wall place run by some P'urhepecha folks. Anyway, he'd been dying to try some cuitlacoche. I stuck to the sopa tarasca (good stuff, btw). He ate it, loved it, and his teeth were black for some time later.
I just couldn't bring myself to eat it. I'm a texture freak (I don't even like bananas because the texture grosses me out).
I ate the chapulinas, though. They were okay.

2. The majority of American countries speak Spanish...
not English. There are "American" stations in Bolivia that give the weather report in Spanish.

And that weather "girl" was probably not "Spanish", but maybe Mexican or Puerto Rican or another a U.S. citizen.

I don't know enough about Kilmeade to know if he's really a bigot, but he sure is ignorant.

3. The Weather Woman is Chiquinquirá Delgado
She's from Venezuela… Maybe if Brian wants to inspect her work visa, he can just run on over to the Univision studios just down the street.

4. They'll probably need heart resuscitation when they hear this
They report on the weather in America (and everywhere else in the world) in GERMAN language shows here.
In Belgium, they do it in both French and Flemish, and in Budapest, they even do it in HUNGARIAN!!!!

Maybe Fox should complain to MI6 that the German media may be violating the Official Secrets Act?

6. How some of these people manage to get out of bed in the morning
without slamming into a wall is beyond me, although slamming their heads into a wall might explain that stunning level of stupidity.

Broadcast "journalism" seems to prepare them to do two things: read from a teleprompter and babble endlessly about any natural disaster to fill air time. The knowledge base is nil.

In 1762, France had ceded Louisiana to Spain, but by the secret Treaty of San Ildefonso (1800) the French had regained the area.
