1. Just raise the taxes on the rich back to 1960s level. Fuck em.

5. Translation: IF the Bush Tax Cuts for the Psychotically Rich...
...are allowed to expire next time around, and nuthin else is (regarding Fed Govt spending) done through the entire Term #2 of (the presumably reelected) Preznit Obama, the, Entirely Caused by Republicans, REPUBLICAN DEFICIT, will disappear.

It's as simple as that.

6. When will the bill come?
I wonder when the bill to extend the cuts will come to the floor. Republicans should be wary about making tax cuts for the rich a core campaign issue (the again, maybe it'll distract from Ryan and Medicare). But they'll have no leverage after the election. Even if they beat Obama, there will be no reason for him to sign the law.

7. It is actually not that simple at all. Doing "nothing else" means no more doc fixes for Medicare.
In other words, doing nothing else means that Medicare eventually becomes useless (because no doctors will take it).

The primary long term deficit problem is that health costs are rising at three times inflation. Letting the bush tax cuts expire won't change that.
