Dianne Feinstein's support dives in Field Poll

Washington -- California Sen. Dianne Feinstein's popularity has plunged by double digits from her previous re-election ratings, according to a new Field Poll survey, demonstrating the toll that the anemic economy is taking on incumbent Democrats, including President Obama, heading into next year's elections.

Campaigning for a fourth full term, Feinstein enjoys a four-point edge, 43 to 39 percent, among registered California voters asked if they would vote for her - even as a strong majority, 46 to 31 percent, approves of the job she is doing. Eighteen percent of voters have no opinion on whether they'd vote for her, leaving a wide opening among swing voters for a potential challenger.
Stunning result, twice

The result stunned poll director Mark DiCamillo, who said he initially dismissed as an aberration a similar outcome in a March poll that had one of the state's most-popular politicians falling so far from favor. The nonpartisan Field Poll is considered one of the most reliable surveys in the state.

DiCamillo cited economic woes and the Tea Party's influence on the state GOP as reasons for Feinstein's weakened grip on the electorate. California's 11.7 percent unemployment rate is second-highest in the nation after Nevada, and its housing market remains deeply depres

3. The nation can go republican in 2012 and finish off the job Bush and Reagan started. That's
the mentality IMO of the American voter.

Blame the wrong person for the mess and vote in the worst in the lineup. As a number of people have said, if the nation had gone into a full scale depression in a weird way we might be better. The way it is now, we're treading water.

I never underestimate American voters to vote in their own worst interest. We were just discussing here why is this country so F'ed up. The only answer we could come up with is the non-ending propaganda, lack of education, stupidity and ignorance.

That said, I've been quite disappointed with the too big to fail and trickle down/voodoo economics. IMO a lot of stuff has stayed the same.

Maybe we'll have a chance to replace her with a Dem who isn't an authoritarian and war profiteer.

Edited to add: It's always appalled me that California can't do better than DiFi. I mean look at Boxer, who's about a thousand times better.

12. Or here in New York, we've got Gillibrand.
I have slightly less warm feelings about Schumer, since he can be a real moron sometimes, particularly on "security" crap. But even so I'd take him over DiFi twice a day and six times on Sunday.

7. Time to jettison that DINO
The only good thing she ever did was to calm an angry SF down after Dan White got away with murder

And I only say that's a good thing because riots never really accomplish anything good, but their anger was a righteous anger

10. Don't worry about DINOs because the Senate will likely be lost to the Republicans next year.
Let's hope that Obama, much to the chagrin of many, will be reelected because he will need to be using his veto pen a lot.
