2. I actually watched that this morning.... totally not intending to.
Our local Fox station (DC) is totally non-political, and they're the best in town for daily news and traffic, so it's always tuned to that channel when we're not watching DVR'd stuff.

MY SO doesn't even like Jon Stewart, but he insisted we watch (and tape) the segment the second we heard Chris Wallace was going to be "grilling" him. The other propaganda segments (Gate's excuses for ongoing war????) were also worth watching... at least it's less offensive than listening to Beck or Limbaugh. I was a bit disappointed when Jon lost his temper (briefly), but he certainly held his own, and dissed Faux the whole way through.

Interestingly enough, we watched a documentary about Hugh Hefner last night, and one segment featured comments by Mike Wallace ("who's that?") and I had to explain that Mike was the father of Chris, had the same credibility as Walter Cronkite, back in the day, and likely couldn't be happier (not) that his son traded his name (and the implied credibility) for a paycheck from Faux.

Stewart didn't actually come out and say it, but his innuendos that Chris traded his name to a propaganda organization were hard to miss for the discerning/cynical ear. This may have been his one and only chance to appear of Faux, so I wouldn't be surprised if he manages to call Chris Wallace a "media whore" before the week is out.

It's worth a watch (or two) folks. I've saved it so I can pick up the subtleties of Jon's words and gestures.

If any of Jon's media people read this, I would like to say "job well done". Even thought the SO doesn't "like" Jon, he was impressed at the bit of roasting that was done. Jon's a freakin' smart guy, so it wasn't a fair fight, but Wallace thought he could handle it. Dumbass (and I don't use that word lightly).

6. If Chris Wallace wanted to "get" Jon Stewart, why didn't
he let him finish his sentences explaining who he is. I also think the arrogant fuck thought he put Jon in his place when in fact, Jon subtly owned him, a technique Jon excels at.

9. I guess Wallace considers Will Rogers a political activist.
Stewart is holding the place that Will Rogers once held in the public discourse.

10. Agreed with him up to the very end.
I think Jon Stewart likes to sell out people who see the racism behind the conservative movement. I can only imagine it's to try to make him appear less of an activist progressive.

So I throw a challenge down to Jon Stewart. If it's even possible to do, I would like to see him try to break into a white island and be a fly on the wall to listen to their dinner conversations. Then I'd like to see what he says about that issue.

11. Chris Wallace is such a boob.
Everything Jon said went over his head. These people are such intellectual midgets.
