Weiner to hold 2 PM Press Conf
Edited on Thu Jun-16-11 11:51 AM by brooklynite
from the Albany Times-Union:

Rep. Anthony Weiner will bring down the curtain on Weinergate with a scheduled 2 p.m. press conference at his Brooklyn district office, according to multiple news reports. From the AP:

House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi says embattled New York Rep. Anthony Weiner, who has been under pressure to resign, will make an announcement Thursday.

The California Democrat would not say what Weiner planned to announce, although officials have said that he plans to step down in the wake of a scandal surrounding sexually provocative texts that he sent to a number of women. Weiner has acknowledged the misstep, but also has up to now resisted pressure to leave Congress.

Would it be too much to suggest that, after the way the last press conference went, he could just release a written statement?

2. Exactly. Why a conference? To suck up more news time?

3. I knew the press conference was a mistake.
The first press conference was hijacked and now the second was heckled.

A little foresight would have done him some good.
