You were a good friend here and it hit me hard today when I heard the news. I was at work when I saw the thread.

Never met you, did not know your real name.

I do know that on many nights, over many posts, you were a friend to me here.

I've had my problems in life. Had my problems with folks here on DU. It all seems small right now.

We lost one of my favorite posters on DU.

Thank you for all your posts, for all the positive input you gave us.

I guess I never really realized how much someone on an anonymous message board posting could mean.

Some nights, when I am down and hurting in life, people like blondeatlast made my night better. Just a simple post, a little something like a kick, thinking about you, etc - made the difference.

Say what you want about folks on DU - the good and the bad - but in the end I have known many folks here that have stepped up to help me and others. DU is not just a website made up of a bunch of random people, it is a place where friends come together. Total strangers who take the time to comment, listen, and give their insights.

blondeatlast was one of those people who made my days a little happier. Whether we agreed or not on something.

You will be missed by your friends here. And I am damned sorry you are gone - as are many other fine folks here.

4. You remember her the same way I remember her, this is so close to

home, like losing a sister. I remember her postings being married to a Punjabi guy and then he left her .. correct me if am wrong! She never said a bad thing about him but she was always so sincere in her postings. I will really miss her! This is so sad, RIP blondeatlast!

25. That is my cat Claudia.

She is just a pretty tabby with green eyes. She loves red ribbons and red balls. Her name is Claudia, because she does bite if she is not getting enough attention, the spoiled thing. She is named after Anne Rice's baby vampire, Claudia.

Claudia is a rescue, of sorts. Someone left her in a box in our elderly neighbors' front yard. We adopted her almost fourteen years ago. It was meant to be.

blondeatlast was a cyberfriend, someone I'd met only online and in PMs, never in "real life." Yet her loss is not merely a "cyberloss." she was truly a friend, and I will miss her dearly.

I know only that her first name is Laurel--a beautiful name, for a beautiful person.

I never met her either or corresponded one on one, but many many times I would find myself reading a thread and thinking "I like that person"

I am shocked to find out that she has passed and feel really bad.

She was terrific, very supportive and sympathetic, and articulate. Made some great observations and I was always eager to read her posts. Many of us miss her already. I sure do.
