Sarah Palin Emails to be Released
Source: Guardian

Sarah Palin is braced for the release of tens of thousands of pages of emails sent when she was governor of Alaska and which opponents say could damage a potential run for the White House.

The emails, copies of which will be obtained by the Guardian, date from her inauguration as governor in 2006 through to 2008, when she was propelled to fame as the Republican vice-presidential candidate. The period coincides with Palin's rise and fall in approval ratings, culminating with a series of rows, including an ethics investigation and a falling-out with her running mate, John McCain.

Palin's critics say she and her allies had stalled a freedom of information request for the emails made in September 2008. But Linda Perez, administrative director to the present Alaska governor Sean Parnell, a Palin ally, denied there had been any obstruction. "It was the sheer volume," she said. "Nothing else."

The state of Alaska is due on Friday to hand over six boxes containing 24,199 pages of printed emails to the Guardian and other media organisations that had applied for copies. Our reporters will immediately begin sifting the documents for stories but the Guardian plans to publish thousands of the raw mails as quickly as possible to allow readers to scan them for interesting material.

1. June 10: Palin Emails Released Today and Gingrich Staff Flees
Media outlets have been waiting for this day longer than Sarah Palin was even in office. 24,199 pages of emails will be released today by the State of Alaska, an order that took 997 days to fulfill after Palin's 966-day governorship. Reporters have flocked to Juneau for the release, while media outlets have been outwardly encouraging readers to read the emails and point out juicy details -- none of which have been leaked. msnbc.com, which made the original request for the

The blurb reads something like

"Thousands of e-mails from Sarah Palin's first two years as governor will be released."

9. That's What I Was Thinking Too
Now, i'd never have the patience to sit through that much reading of her drivel, but i'm sure hoping someone will do the combing so we can laugh at the bad hair.

8. If anything bad comes out, they will rally around her.
With the snub from Thatcher, they are fired up. Limbaugh just threw Romney and Newt under the bus. One by one, the electable pugs are being cast aside in favor of the lunatics. Any candidate who appears reasonable is immediately trounced. They will be left with Bachmann (or Palin) and Paul.

Although the State could release them, it has chosen not to do so.
