Sex doll blamed for crash


State police said a blow-up doll in the road is to blame for a crash on Route 34 in South Middleton Township.

Troopers said a driver spotted what appeared to be a person lying in the road. He made a quick stop to avoid hitting the object in the road, and was rear ended by the vehicle behind him.

Police say it turned out a blow-up doll on the road.

Both drivers and a passenger were wearing their seat belts and no one was injured.

I guess I'm a dirty old man, but I'm not so out-of-date that the term 'turned out' doesn't have other connotations.

2. I work at a hotel...

Years ago a woman ordered coffee early one morning. When I took it up to her room she opened the curtains while she was talking to me. There on the roof was a blow-up doll. I told the woman that engineering would be doing work at some point and she might want to leave the curtains closed. She did. I went back downstairs and called the engineer and asked him to retrieve the doll from the roof.

I've always wondered what happened to her.

If I hit my brakes to avoid anything in the road and I get rear-ended, the fault lies with the driver who hit me.

But that doesn't make for a good headline.
