4. Damaged goods.
The leadership will want a change. Pelosi has already started it.

13. Perhaps challenge to have both of them resign at the same time...
If both were to resign and apologize for their private indiscretions, and issue a bipartisan message that they are doing so so that the media can focus on the challenges facing the country, and not their personal flaws as distractions, they might help us all, and perhaps even give both of themselves a little better image too if they were to put the country's welfare above their own selves and to send out a message of "selflessness" to counteract the message of the Ayn Rand culture of sociopathic selfishness. Unfortunately, I don't think Vitter would go along with this, but it might be worth trying. They might want another Democrat to resign along with him since Vitter's a senator and not a congressman, but I don't think at this point there's any others that should.

15. The problem with all that is the media prefers focusing on these kind of things, they are not
forced to do it, they would rather cover a scandal than an economic or any kind of subject they feel will not sell. The thing about Vitter & putting up our own I don't see at all & do not see a need for "any" to resign although the probability of Weiner resigning is a lot better than Vitter resigning because the people in Louisiana don't care as long as it is a republican act.

9. He should and he will.
After Chris Less's resignation for a lessor matter, he has too. The party is going to put pressure on him. He is pulling the party down and the rest of the party wants this to go away. Otherwise the story will drip, drip, drip and the party will not be able to get any other ink. Edwards story resurfacing does not help.

If he were to resign now, the party could take a high road and Patterson could quickly fill the seat with a Democratic Representative so that when the election came around, the story would be forgotten. Weiner's district is not a guranteed one and I think the Party Leaders would think it risky to fight for him.

He is gone.
