The Democrats should point out in regard to the weak jobs report for May
Edited on Sun Jun-05-11 10:22 AM by Tony_FLADEM
that Obama did what the Republicans wanted and extended the Bush tax cuts for the richest 1%. According to the Republicans this is supposed to get them to invest and create jobs and it has not.

If it's not working now, why would it work if the Republican took power again and enacted these same policies to a greater extent.

1. Good point
It has not worked for the last 10 years... If it was not for DINOs and repubs in the senate, the stimulus would have been bigger and more jobs created (although here at DU (as well as repubs) we blame Obama for everything).

2. When will the Obama administration go on the offensive
and point this out?

3. Perhaps they Already Did. How Would We Know?
It's not as though it would be on the Tee Vee or anything.

5. It's very hard to go on the offensive
when the President is apparently the only one who will speak for his own agenda while Congressional Democrats sit on their hands and bitch.

4. They should also point out over and over again
Edited on Sun Jun-05-11 11:57 AM by EC
that those lost jobs are the very jobs the repub measures are cutting...the teachers, cops, firefighters and other public workers.

On edit: to make it clearer, they are government jobs and that can be varified in the stats.

6. That response would not work.
One month can not be cherry picked. What about the strong months early this year when 250,000 jobs were created? The administration took credit for those months.

7. The Democrats should, instead of playing political games and blame games,
And angling to save their own political future in 2012, instead the Democrats should be putting forth bold plans for saving this economy, including jobs creation, tax hikes on the rich and corporate, and reclaiming our manufacturing sector from overseas.

The time for political games and political cowardice is over.
