Not One Single News Group Challenged Palin Revere Comments...
Edited on Sat Jun-04-11 01:33 AM by rsmith6621

...They let her have a pass thus further enabling her to spout more revisionist history that just gives our kids more reason not to excel in the biggest gift they will receive next to life and love that being an education.. The media had 36 hours to challenge her comment and failed to do so and there were so many opportunity's to show the world what an empty headed sad sack excuse she is involved with our political process...

My wife and I figure Palin and Trump talked over a collaboration for run in 2012,something like a Palin/Trump ticket...I guess if they show up in Iowa together that may just be true. They'll run as independents.

2. That's the way it was with Reagan
Edited on Sat Jun-04-11 04:12 AM by Lasher
"He has the ability to make statements that are so far outside the parameters of logic that they leave you speechless"
--Patti Davis (formerly Patricia Ann Reagan) talking about her father, The Way I See It

"This loathing for government, this eagerness to prove that any program to aid the disadvantaged is nothing but a boondoggle and a money gobbler, leads him to contrive statistics and stories with unmatched vigor."
--Mark Green, Reagan's Reign of Error

"President Reagan doesn't always check the facts before he makes statements, and the press accepts this as kind of amusing."
--former president Jimmy Carter, March 6, 1984

"Ronald Reagan is the first modern President whose contempt for the facts is treated as a charming idiosyncrasy."
--James David Barber, presidential scholar, On Bended Knee: The Press and the Reagan Presidency, Mark Hertsgaard

"His errors glide past unchallenged. At one point...he alleged that almost half the population gets a free meal from the government each day. No one told him he was crazy. The general message of the American press is that, yes, while it is perfectly true that the emperor has no clothes, nudity is actually very acceptable this year."
--Simon Hoggart, in The Observer (London), 1986

Edit: Maybe we're being a little harsh with the MSM. From the LA Times:

Needless to say, the lamestream media are having a field day with that gaffe.

Politico: Palin makes Bachmann look like Longfellow

Forbes: This certainly gives us an entirely new point of view to consider when examining our nation’s founding.

Mediaite: Palin’s version wasn’t exactly the official History Channel rendition of the tale...

ABC: Perhaps this week's lesson in the annals of American history was necessary for Sarah Palin.

3. But those covering Weiner question everything he says.
Someone (most likely political opposition) hacked his account & posted an embarrassing photo. Like Twitter's non-existent security is somehow his fault.

5. I haven't quite figured this one out yet. What exactly did she say wrong?
Was it the "warned the British" part, or the guns, or the bells, or what? I do know that the actual Paul Revere story is much, much more complex than the simple-minded "midnight ride" and "one if by land" business found in the poem.

I'm not defending Sarah (I can't stand her), I just want to home in on exactly what we are criticizing here. Can anyone help?

6. You Don't Shit Where You Sleep...
Remember, she's an employee of Faux...they are out to make her look good no matter how hard she tries to screw up. Some around here were all ferkelmpt about this Tragical Misery Tour but I knew that sooner or later Grifterella would cough up some comedy gold and here it is. Who knows how much more is to come until she quits "discovering America" for her next flight of fancy.

The only reason for Mooselini to run is strictly her ego. Common sense (which is something she sorely lacks) says that the last thing she wants to be is a President. That requires work...real, hard work (ask georgie) that doesn't allow you the luxuary of $150 grand shopping sprees and "shootin' from the hip". She's got a nice gravy train rollin'...her Faux gig, book deals, big money to spew word salad at rotary clubs and her "PAC"...and all she has to do is look stupid.

Trust me, this latest Palin gaffe will be played up big. Remember, it came out on a Friday and all the comedy shows won't be back to work on Monday. Bill Mahrer rushed to get the clip on and the reaction of his guests...including rushpublican Rick Lazio was precious. The combination of stupidity and her psychobabble make it a classic. But I'm sure she'll top it. She's like a slow moving, on-going train wreck. You hate to see it, but you can't help but watch.

11. Here you go
When Paul Revere was captured by British scouts before he got to Concord, he did tell them that the people knew they were coming, and where arms and ammunition was at. As other messengers had warned the pople of Concord, they knew the British were coming and were already moving the arms, ammunition and supplies.

12. Here's a good article about
Paul Revere's ride and Sarah Palin's take on it.

http://www.politicususa.com/en/sarah-palin-paul-revere

snip:

Paul Revere wasn’t ringing bells or firing shots into the air. He had to quietly deliver the message that the regulars were coming to arrest John Adams and John Hancock. The story of Paul Revere screaming the British are coming has been woven into our popular culture, so I don’t fault Palin for getting that wrong, but the Second Amendment and shots being fired into the air are pure Palin propaganda.

How many of these gaffes should we allow Sarah Palin to get away with? Palin defenders and even some on the left have been claiming that pointing out yesterday that Palin called the Statue of Liberty the Statute of Liberty was petty, but these critics are, especially those on the left, usually good-natured people who don’t understand that these aren’t isolated gaffes.

Sarah Palin has absolutely no idea what she is talking about, yet she thinks she is qualified to be the President of the United States. When Palin spews her own incorrect version of history, we have a duty as Americans to correct it. As Sarah Palin considers running for president, we have a duty to report on her real words and deeds.
