surprise, surprise: Breitbart Source for Weiner Smear DELETES Twitter Account + New Forensic Details
Breitbart Source for Weiner Smear Deletes Twitter Account
The smell of another fraudulent Breitbart story is getting stronger

Today we find that Andrew Breitbart’s source for the smear attack against Rep. Anthony Weiner, Dan Wolfe (aka @patriotusa76) has deleted his entire Twitter account.

There’s been a bad smell about this story from the beginning, and it just got exponentially worse.

Meanwhile, the New Republic’s James Downie contacted forensic image analyst Hany Farid, who maintains a database of 15,000 cameras, phones, and tablets, and asked him to analyze the infamous crotch photo that started this whole ridiculous nontroversy. Farid discovered that the photo does not match any device in his entire database, whereas photographs taken by Rep. Weiner match the Blackberry profile: EXCLUSIVE: New Forensic Details About Weinergate Photo. http://www.tnr.com/blog/jonathan-chait/89311/exclusive-new-forensic-details-about-weinergate-photo

This means that the picture was either taken by a device not in Farid’s database — or it’s a fake that’s been manipulated in some way.

1. I can't believe anyone would believe Breitbart at all for any reason.
Silly CNN and their "journalism".

3. To me, the photo looks fake
not the entire photo, just the penis area. It looks more- to me- like someone stuck a dildo in their panties. I say this because it seems to come from across his right thigh and way over to the left and I just think it should be coming more from the center of crotch area.

I'm a liberal woman and I've seen many erect penis' during my life time and it just looks odd to me.

7. Agreed. The most basic question about the photo has not even been asked
That would be "Animal, vegetable or mineral?" Probably not mineral, and some members of the squash family get pretty large.

4. Breitbart aka Dan Wolfe aka @patriotusa76
I want to know who the sockpuppet, Dan Wolfe is. I'd love someone to expose that information. No doubt if it's not Breitbart, it's a stooge in his employ.

6. Yes, that has been obvious each time Breitbart and his thugs
do something like this. CNN especially, has never questioned their sources or tactics or funders. In fact, you could almost think they are in collusion with them. Because everyone knows that Breitbart has been thoroughly discredited so why would CNN not even check out this non-story before rushing to put it on the air considering the source?

8. Since the media is corporate owned, we can safely say that we no longer have a reliable, impartial
media in this country. "You could almost think they are in collusion" yes we could Sabrina 1 and we would most likely be right. Sources, tactics, funders, facts, truth and verification are old school. Today, it's all about ratings even if you have to create the story yourself with sources (Republicon operatives) supplying the phony stories. Your comment is right on.

10. Yes, I used to think when it came to CNN and Breitbart/O'Keefe
who they had on consistently during the ACORN travesty, they didn't really know how bad they were. But since then, there can be no doubt about how discredited they are, yet CNN still uses them as sources. So, I am now convinced they are in collusion.

I took the opportunity to tell Anderson Cooper on Twitter that CNN should be ashamed of its coverage of this story, since he asked! I pointed out his source, Breitbart, and asked him if he was kidding. I think he heard from a lot of people who are beginning to see through the whole scam as he appeared to be on the defensive about the coverage.

15. exactly, and what's surprising about Anderson Cooper is, that he doesn't need the money/Job so he
could easily say FU guys I'm not going with this Breitbart guy as a source for information, but notice he doesn't do that. Instead, even he for some reason tows the corporate line. If he can't see that it taints him as a verifiable source of fact checked information, and we all know he's not a stupid man, then what else are we to think? The fix is in. I don't trust any of the media in this country anymore sad to say, but they have proven themselves to be on the side of the corporations and not the fact checking, story hunting journalists that We the People need to tell us the truth about stories that matter and affect our everyday lives. Who the fuck cares about Palin and her bus vacation, Arnold and Maria, Dancing with the Stars etc. those are all just distractions, where are the plans for job creation? Sorry for the rant, I know I'm preaching to the choir. I'm just extremely disappointed in the direction this country has been forced to move by Psycho Republicons and for the most part, weak Democrats. I'm only encouraged by most of the people here at DU who seem to be intelligent, educated, and sane in the face of all of the insanity we've been seeing in this country as of late, especially after the last election cycle, the other side seems to have turned up the crazy in this country like I've never seen in my lifetime. Anyway, I'm not going to rant anymore, lets hope that we can remedy our broken system of governing and force the media to do their jobs before it's too late.

16. No need to aplogize. I agree with everything you said.
Anderson Cooper is from the wealthy class, so I guess he's more comfortable when it comes down to it, doing their bidding.

I used to give him a pass on the Breitbart issue, thinking maybe he just had not had time to look into it and blamed his producers. But now I am convinced he is fully aware of what Breitbart is and uses him, as one of the tools of the trade to take out decent people who may pose any threat to world he feels most comfortable being a part of. He is one of them.

There is now adequate evidence that the real story of this latest scam was Breitbart, his funders, the tweeters responsible for the non-story, one of whom has as record that should definitely be exposed, the other who has already erased all records of his existence online, AFTER stating that he does not want publicity because 'I have a lot of baggage'. Any real journalist after having disgraced himself by using these disreputable sources, would not follow up on the story. But I doubt he will.

One good thing is we are not as easily fooled as we used to be so the whole scam backfired in reality. Maybe MSNBC will follow and tell the REAL story of what was attempted last weekend as CNN enabled a gang of thugs to try to destroy yet another decent human being being.

12. CNN has a history of breitbarting. Remember Governor Dr. Dean and
the scream video. They still ran it after it had been discredited and they had sunk his presidential bid. They are as trusted as Fox is fair and balanced.

I'm not a fan of this guy's politics, but I enjoy his relentless attacks of late on the ultra right wing loonies.

Why I Parted Ways With The Right

Charles Johnson
Nov 30, 2009

1. Support for fascists, both in America (see: Pat Buchanan, Robert Stacy McCain, etc.) and in Europe (see: Vlaams Belang, BNP, SIOE, Pat Buchanan, etc.)

2. Support for bigotry, hatred, and white supremacism (see: Pat Buchanan, Ann Coulter, Robert Stacy McCain, Lew Rockwell, etc.)

3. Support for throwing women back into the Dark Ages, and general religious fanaticism (see: Operation Rescue, anti-abortion groups, James Dobson, Pat Robertson, Tony Perkins, the entire religious right, etc.)

4. Support for anti-science bad craziness (see: creationism, climate change denialism, Sarah Palin, Michele Bachmann, James Inhofe, etc.)

5. Support for homophobic bigotry (see: Sarah Palin, Dobson, the entire religious right, etc.)

6. Support for anti-government lunacy (see: tea parties, militias, Fox News, Glenn Beck, etc.)

7. Support for conspiracy theories and hate speech (see: Alex Jones, Rush Limbaugh, Glenn Beck, Birthers, creationists, climate deniers, etc.)

8. A right-wing blogosphere that is almost universally dominated by raging hate speech (see: Hot Air, Free Republic, Ace of Spades, etc.)

9. Anti-Islamic bigotry that goes far beyond simply criticizing radical Islam, into support for fascism, violence, and genocide (see: Pamela Geller, Robert Spencer, etc.)

10. Hatred for President Obama that goes far beyond simply criticizing his policies, into racism, hate speech, and bizarre conspiracy theories (see: witch doctor pictures, tea parties, Birthers, Michelle Malkin, Fox News, World Net Daily, Newsmax, and every other right wing source)

And much, much more. The American right wing has gone off the rails, into the bushes, and off the cliff.

I won’t be going over the cliff with them.

13. 11. Routine fabrication of outright lies and falsehoods
The Weiner 'photo' being only the latest example of such right wing republicon lies and falsehoods (see AWOL Bush & WMD, ad nauseum).
