2. In TV, when you get a job that has an additional 5 or 6 million

viewers, that is not a demotion. MSNBC is a very tiny market, Today is an ongoing ratings machine. The pay on Today would make MSNBC wages look like minimum wage. It is a huge career step. Barbara Walters had that gig. Who is the Queen of Journalism in mass media? Walters.

3. Agree. The network bigger outlet is the big time. The morning people make as much or more moohlah

than the anchors. Whassisname on Today, the dude, was making more than COURIC on the evening news. And the career path seems to pass through the morning circuit more often than not, BROKAW, GIBSON, SAWYER.
