Another shooting story with five dead.
Edited on Thu Jun-02-11 05:13 PM by Cyrano
This isn't about guns. It's about stupidity.

This one was in Arizona, but it could just as well have been Maine, Oregon, Iowa, or Delaware.

The local sheriff called this "very, very, foolish." Crossing against a red light is "foolish." Shooting five people and then shooting yourself doesn't quite fit the word "foolish."

I have no idea what the body count is from shootings in this country over, say, the past 10 years. I also don't know how many people have died from cigarettes over the past 10 years.

But I can say that one of these causes of death is a personal choice and the other is not. Either way, it seems we humans are doomed to live in a state of self-destruction.

I wonder if there are planets on which sentient inhabitants value life more than we do?

1. There are many COUNTRIES "on which sentient inhabitants value life more than we do".

Gun deaths in the US greatly surpass other civilized countries.

4. This actually is about guns
The rest of the world has stronger gun regulation and magically they have less violent gun related crime.
