I believe Wiener
and have since this mess started. There is no way in this world that a man with as good a head on his shoulders is going to do something so juvinile...just no way..

And to tell the truth, I can't believe that there are people on this board that would believe Brietbart's scamming ways over a good man of integrity...

This is just Bull.

We both may be proven wrong - but historically? NotSoBreit is a lying liar who tells lies.

3. I want to.
But lack of common sense knows no political boundaries. I would have thought John Edwards had more sense. Even Ensign, whose politics I totally disagree with, should have had more sense.

We know accounts can be hacked and Brietbart sure got ahold of the alledged tweet in record time. He admitted to having someone essentially stalking Weiner's online activities. Isn't much of a leap to take it to the next level.

7. I understand that
Truly do . . . but it's Breitbart.

He Lied. He's sunk so many people with his lies. If it were anyone BUT Breitbart I might see as you do . . . but this is like Acorn, Van, Shirley - all over again.

and that's why I am leaning towards believing Weiner outright. If it weren't for Brietbart I'd be pretty neutral on this.

17. What does Breitbart have to do to lose credibility with
"the liberal media?"

The kicker for me is that no woman is saying she was harassed by AW. THE WOMAN WAS HARASSED BY PATRIOTUSA GUY! I mean come on. I remember 15 women coming out when Ahnold was running for Gov and the "liberal media" called them ALL liars and that was the end of it....SUCH AN OBVIOUS PUT UP JOB!

5. I believe him too and lots of DUers do likewise. His judgment is something else.
Some DUers don't think he should have been as disdainful as he was with the press yesterday. They may have a point: he looks stubborn and disagreeable.

Personally, I think he knows something that he cannot reveal just now, but which will sink Breitbart's operation. I think he doesn't want to let on what it is and that's why he is stonewalling. I am hoping that this is so. In such a case, I would say "he did the right thing."

13. Unfuckingbelievable. YOU DOUBT HIS JUDGMENT?
Then why would you believe anything he has to say about Clarence Thomas?

SCORE ANOTHER WIN FOR LIAR BREITBART. There is one born every minute.

The DU lynch mob hangs another former friend on the tree with ACORN and Sherrod.

calm down. I know for sure Breitbart is lying and Weiner is telling the truth, just like you do, aquart. I said I thought Weiner knew something that would bust Breitbart and now it appears that he has. I was waiting and hoping for this, but I didn't think it would happen so fast!

so it looks like we're together on this, amigo...

10. since the female in question has been virtually stalked by the guy making the claim...
it seems to be another example of how loathsome the American media has become - that they don't call out this shit for what it is.

I mean, come on, some people have accused Andrew Breitbart - some say Andrew Breitbart has syphilis from fucking farm animals. Is it true or not?

If it's true, the American media should consider the possibility that Andrew Breitbart is suffering from dementia caused by syphilis.

I mean - that statement should be investigated b/c it's just as well sourced as the claim the stalker made.

12. Where is there even a question? Breitbart has been behind a series of baseless smears.
Edited on Wed Jun-01-11 12:05 PM by Marr
He has zero credibility, so any claim he makes is suspect from the get-go. This one isn't backed up by convincing evidence and seems pretty absurd on it's face.

Frankly, I think Breitbart isn't even the best person to blame anymore-- it's the media outlets who give this proven liar an open forum to make his wild accusations.

And he seems to have recruited quite a posse from the DU lynch mob.

Doubt is all he needs.

Go for it. Destroy another one.

16. Yeah, because everyone knows
that men who appear to have a good head on their shoulders could NEVER get involved in something so sleazy.

Especially if they're Democrats.

If this happened with John McCain or Mitt Romney or someone like that, he'd be crucified here.

And no...I'm not sticking up for Republicans. I'm bashing hypocrisy.

If some left wing equivalent of Breitbart (if there was one) pushed a smear like this against someone like Mitt Romney, I wouldn't get on board, and I doubt many here would.

Edited on Wed Jun-01-11 12:27 PM by EC
he is just a bit "dirty old mannish" the way he leered at Palin. But no I would not believe it of Mitt either.

I haven't seen anything in Weiner's character that he would do something this stupid. I mean c'mon it wasn't that long ago that Farve made a laughing stock of himself, do you really think Weiner would be jumping on that bandwagon?

26. This doesn't look like sleaze. It looks nonsensical. Public underpants Tweet?
Edited on Wed Jun-01-11 03:21 PM by DirkGently
There are a lot of indices of "not likely" here besides support / non-support of Anthony Weiner.

The narrative here would require us to believe that Congressman Weiner decided to risk career suicide by publicly transmitting photos of his ... thing-that-makes-a-convenient-headline-pun ... to a young woman he'd never met, for some unfathomable purpose.

It would look a bit more than weird no matter who the behavior was attributed to.

It also matters that completely made-up smears ARE a recent rightwing speciality, and this one appears to have come directly from the Breitbart factory as did the others.

There's no great hypocrisy in taking "Weinergate" with a Gibralter-sized grain of salt, at the very least.

21. If National Enquirer broke the story, I might think it's true but Breitbart - no way
Which pretty much means I think the National Enquirer has more integrity then Breitbart

BTW, NE might put out a story now, but only because the story is already out there, but they were right about John Edwards and that story they broke.

That is how scared they are of him.

They were trying to "Spitzer" him but he wasn't screwing anyone but his wife.

Creeps, they just hacked in.

I hope they find out who really did it. Leads back to Rove or something!
