Video: Dean at Monitor breakfast..don't let the door hit them in the you know what on the way out.

Interesting words on the subject of WH advisor departures. In fact in the video he says they shouldn't let the door hit them in the you know what on the way out.

That part is not in the article from the Christian Science Monitor.

Howard Dean blasts White House for treating liberals with 'contempt'

Speaking at a Monitor-sponsored breakfast with reporters, Mr. Dean said, “The core issue is the contempt” with which not just progressives “but lots of people were treated by a group of senior advisers around the president who had been here for 20 years and thought they knew everything and we knew nothing. That is a fundamental flaw in any kind of administration.”

Dean, a former presidential candidate and Vermont governor, tried to steer the conversation away from naming specific departing advisers. “It was more than just (outgoing press secretary Robert) Gibbs or Rahm” Emanuel, the recently departed White House chief of staff, he said. “It was the whole mindset that was going on there.”

“Most of the people who were doing this stuff are either out of the White House or going,” Dean said. His comments came on the morning Mr. Gibbs announced he would leave the briefing room podium in February to become an outside political adviser to the president and to give speeches in the private sector.

Interesting he said that today as there he really has an interesting history with Gibbs as well as Rahm. Video also included in this post.

A Political Mugging in America

"March 4, 2004 — As Mark Twain once put it, "A truth is not hard to kill and a lie told well is immortal."

..."On November 7, 2003, a strange new group no one had ever heard of called "Americans for Jobs & Healthcare" was quietly formed and soon thereafter began running a million dollar operation including political ads against then-frontrunner Democratic presidential candidate Howard Dean. The commercials ripped Dean over his positions or past record on gun rights, trade and Medicare growth. But the most inflammatory ad used the visual image of Osama bin Laden as a way to raise questions about Dean's foreign policy credibility. While the spots ran, Americans for Jobs—through its then-spokesman, Robert Gibbs, a former Kerry campaign employee—refused to disclose its donors."

And of course Rahm Emanuel is gone, along with his apology of referring to the efforts of DFA and other progressive groups to run ads against conservative Democrats....as "f---ing retarded."

White House chief of staff Rahm Emanuel apologized to the head of the Special Olympics today after the Wall Street Journal reported the fiery Chicagoan privately called a group of liberal activists "f---ing retarded."

Last August, Emanuel "showed up at a weekly strategy session featuring liberal groups and White House aides," the Journal's Peter Wallsten reported lastTuesday."Some attendees said they were planning to air ads attacking conservative Democrats who were balking at Mr. Obama's health-care overhaul. 'F—ing retarded,' Mr. Emanuel scolded the group, according to several participants. He warned them not to alienate lawmakers whose votes would be needed on health care and other top legislative items."

A White House official confirms that Emanuel made the remark and reports that Emanuel called Tim Shriver last week when the Journal story first appeared to apologize to the disabled community and the apology was accepted.

I may not agree with Dean that they are all gone now, but I like his way of expressing it.

He has a right to say such as that.

I was reading in Herding Donkeys about when he was invited to the WH in February 2009 to meet with Rahm and Axelrod. He was told the decision for HHS secretary had not yet been made, but he knew it already had. He got to view Rahm's desk nameplate..."Undersecretary of Go F*** Yourself". Then he was asked to please not do anything to hurt the president's health care plan.

So I am with HD. I hope they don't let the door hit them in the you know what on the way out.

1. There's a video at the link. Worth watching for people who value sincerity.
When he talks, I always listen, because
he's a truth-teller.

2. Yes, the video is a good one.
I see you have to pay to read or watch the whole Monitor breakfast. Seems like it was free in years past.

4. Well, I think it's funny that Rahm thought BOTH were okay
when talking about us.
